As a not for profit organisation dedicated
to providing computer resources locally and overseas,
our main community activities include:
- Setting up Technology Learning Centres
overseas. These centres teach the local community
computer repair skills, teach the local community
basic computer programs, donate computers to local
community projects, provide a Internet access
point to the local community and act as a training
centre to its local community.
- Donating computers and technical
advise to local community projects. If you are an
Australian not for profit organisation please contact
us to see how we can help.
- Train the unemployed in IT skills.
Each major Charity Computers Centre trains up to
100 unemployed volunteers in computer repair, basic
networks, customer service, basic computer programs
and troubleshooting. A select number of volunteers
is also trained as Infrastructure Engineers learning,
supervisor skills, complex networking and project
management. We are connected with IT recruitment
companies and volunteers are offered jobs on
completion of their training
- We train Work for the Dole participants
as part of our commitment to people and community
projects. Many receive job offers at the completion
of their training.
- We offer a massively discounted computer
Repair service to concession card holders. The current
price is $25 an hour. We do not charge to look and
there is no charge if we cannot repair the computer.
- We offer a computer reuse and recycling
service to our local community. This allows the
community to help the environment and those in need
by donating their older computer equipment.
- We provide refurbished computer to
concession card holders with complete warranty protection
on both hardware and software. Many of our clients
could not afford a computer through any other method.
- We provide a method for people to
volunteer and join us in the vision to help others,
by providing access to computer resources.
