Charity Computers accepts donations of all IBM compatible computer equipment. It reuses most equipment and/or recycles equipment at end of life through approved recyclers.

The majority of our donations are donated to local community groups and overseas charity organisations. Some computers are sold locally to recover our costs only.

How can I be sure that all my data is removed from the computer?

Data Destruction Guarantee
All computers donated have the hard drives wiped and all information removed, using software and procedures approved by the USA Dept of Defence and Microsoft Australia. This is done to a standard where the majority of the population cannot recover the data, unless using specialist equipment.

Will Charity Computers collect a computer donation from my home?
No, Charity Computers does not pickup from homes.  However, we welcome your donation- contact your local centre for opening hours.

Will Charity Computers collect donations of equipment from my place of business?
Yes, if there is a quantity of equipment Charity Computers will arrange to pickup from Schools/Businesses etc. Contact your local centre to arrange for collection.  Note that a small charge applies for transport costs.

How do I donate?
Bring your donations to your local centre.  Monitors are tested while you wait to ensure that no disposal fees apply (see above)
